Health is the foundation of all we are and aspire to be.  It is about the body, mind and spirit, all of which play a fundamental role in health.  Optimal health is what we are all seeking.  It is the conscious pursuit of the highest level of functioning and balance of the physical, environmental, mental, emotional, social and spiritual aspect of human experience, resulting in a dynamic state of being fully alive.


You hear a lot about living a healthy lifestyle, enough that the phrase 'healthy lifestyle' may be one we'd like to permanently retire. The problem is, that phrase describes the life we need to live if we want to feel good and look good. So, what does it actually mean? Well, there are the obvious things that describe a healthy person: He or she doesn't smoke, is at a healthy weight, eats healthy foods and exercises on a regular basis. It sounds so simple, it's funny just how hard it is to do all of those things in our current world.

Beyond the very basics of physical and mental well-being, there are many extenuating circumstances, situations and transitions of life that have a direct and profound affect on our health.  One of those is divorce.


 Divorce has become a common aspect of American culture. With more couples divorcing on a regular basis, there are plenty of test studies to support the U.S. Surgeon General’s claim that 30-40% of those undergoing divorce experience a significant increase in the symptoms of depression and anxiety.
  It makes sense if you think about it. Any kind of life change has the potential to create anxiety, but getting divorced has its own special mix of problems. For many, the circumstances leading to divorce create low self-esteem and intense insecurity. Either party might question if they’ll ever find another relationship. If one party stayed home instead of working during the marriage, the divorce can lead to anxiety over how they’ll support themselves. If there are children involved, separation anxiety could become a factor, as well. 

Our goal at Women to Women by Julia is considering the entire individual, encompassing all the internal and external affects of health.  Our objective is to educate, support and assist all women during any life transition thereby creating an environment encouraging achievement of a healthy expression of one body, mind and spirit.

Health is a mind, body and spiritual experience. We need to approach health holistically and fuel it with food and practices that nourish the divinity.
In this way, it is necessary to first approach life from a conscious point of living.
